Wisconsin Receives $822 Million for High Speed Rail
News - 1/29/2010
Wisconsin may see more than $800 million in funding for high speed rail, part of an $8 billion federal investment in rail transport. The bulk of money will be spent expanding rail between Milwaukee and Madison's Dane County Regional Airport, which is about a 15 mile drive from the University of Wisconsin. Kudos to Doyle on high-speed rail

Congratulations are in order for Gov. Jim Doyle. The news this week that Wisconsin will get $810 million in federal stimulus money that will allow it to construct a high-speed passenger rail link between Madison and Milwaukee was the culmination of good planning and persistent salesmanship on the part of the governor’s office, his Department of Transportation, and U.S. Rep.
